Today’s word of the day: quinquennium! Beyond being fun to say out loud (seriously, try it), it refers to a five-year period of time... and is the perfect description of a recent Payworks milestone.

As we celebrate our 25th anniversary as a 100% Canadian owned and operated organization, we’re also honoured to mark our fifth consecutive year being recognized as one of Manitoba’s Top Employers by Canada’s Top 100 Employers! Winners are evaluated on factors as diverse as benefits policies to training programs to community engagement and more.

What’s life like for the team at Payworks – in Manitoba and beyond? They’re happy to tell you themselves! At last year’s employee Connect Summit, we tapped folks from coast to coast to share their thoughts on how we got our start, where we’re headed, and what it’s been like along the way. And while our Head Office (and headcount!) may have evolved since 2024, the sentiments remain the same. Hear it all in the short video below:

As Payworks Co-Founder Barb Gamey explains in the video, the built-in-house technology behind our full suite of workforce management solutions is continually growing and changing – and without the right people, it wouldn’t be possible to provide these tech solutions to address Canadian businesses’ challenges.

“Whether they’re working behind the scenes or directly serving our customers, each Payworks employee plays a vital role in who we are and what we have to offer,” shares Jenn Johnston, Vice President of Human Resources. “In our most recent engagement survey, the most commonly-used words that appeared in our long-form responses – almost 100 times each – were ‘inclusive’ and ‘fun.’ At Payworks, everyone makes a difference and everyone belongs. It really is a special community of people here.”
