
Brewing change: how we support Tims Camps (and you can too!)
Every summer, there’s one day when Tim Hortons’ vibrant red cups are filled with both warmth and purpose, supporting a cause far greater than our morning caffeine fix alone. July 16 marked this year’s Tim Hortons Camp Day, a long-standing and impactful tradition for both the organization itself and Payworks’ team of volunteers!
On Camp Day, 100% of the proceeds from the purchase of all hot and iced coffee are donated to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps, along with those from Camp Day doughnuts, bracelets and badges. Like our own team, there are Tim Hortons Foundation Camps from coast to coast. Since 1974, Tim Hortons Foundation Camps have benefited more than 325,000 young people, using camp experiences to develop social and emotional skills.
Since the inception of our Pay it Forward (PIF) program – wherein all staff receive two paid days off to volunteer for an organization of their choosing – Camp Day has been a Payworks staff fan favourite as a great place to spend a PIF day, and this year was no exception. In Winnipeg, we sent employees to four different Tim Horton locations across the city to raise awareness about Camp Day.
“I always put my hand up when it comes time for the Tim Hortons Camp Day volunteer opportunity for a variety of reasons,” says Payworks Office Administrator Margaret Windsor. “I love the fact that Tim Hortons Foundation Camps give back to the community, and how the proceeds of that day go towards giving deserving young individuals the chance to see their full potential and change their stories with an amazing camp experience! They have a helping hand in making a huge difference in the path of so many young people…
