In celebration of our 20th anniversary – and more specifically, two decades of community support – Payworks is honoured to announce a series of donations to several highly-deserving and impactful Manitoba-based not-for-profit organizations, in addition to maintaining our ongoing national charitable partnerships. That’s why Payworks is pleased to partner with The Winnipeg Foundation and Red River College (RRC) to provide $50,000 as part of our 20th anniversary donations in the form of an entrance scholarship endowment.

The Payworks Education Award will be given annually “to one Red River College student with a record of community involvement pursuing studies in Business or Computer and Information Systems Technology with preference to students from Manitoba and a member of the First Nations status/non-status, Inuit or Métis community. Held at The Winnipeg Foundation.”

While RRC will be selecting each year’s recipient of the $2,500 scholarship, The Winnipeg Foundation will play an equally critical role in making sure these resources are distributed effectively.

By establishing Payworks’ donation as an endowment in perpetuity through The Winnipeg Foundation, the Payworks Education Award will “support our community for good – forever. Gifts are pooled and permanently invested, and a portion of the income earned is granted back to the community every year.”

“Red River College is proud to partner with Payworks, through The Winnipeg Foundation, on the creation of this new award. Entrance awards provide opportunities for students to achieve academic success by removing some of the financial barriers and stress in their lives,” says David Petis, Executive Director of Advancement at RRC. “Payworks is a leading employer of RRC grads, and we are thankful for their commitment to helping future learners navigate the first steps of their careers."

“As a proud Manitoba employer, Payworks has long seen the positive impact of RRC’s wide breadth of programs,” says JP Perron, President and CEO of Payworks. “RRC graduates are well-equipped with the education, experience and connections needed to build an engaging career. We look forward to seeing how the recipients of this scholarship make a difference in our community!”
