But they are the crew that stands out on the tarmac for more than just their fluorescent orange t-shirts. The 2018 Plane Pull event was a daunting one. **In 2017 we raised $11,336.** With our fundraising heavyweights out of the picture in 2018 (Dee dela Cruz and Lauren Himbeault) how would we match those kind of funds? Answer: put the VP, Finance as the team captain. **Once again Payworks captured the title of Top Fundraising Team at the United Way Winnipeg Plane Pull.** In total, the squad raised **$10,898**, which goes back directly into the community for youth mentorship. The prize, a Winnipeg Jets suite and a pizza party for the entire team at Boston Pizza. An accolade well deserved to all on this year’s Payworks Plane Pull team! ![Photo booth boomerang. ](https://blog.payworks.ca/hs-fs/hubfs/UW%20MyGIF.gif?width=300&name=UW%20MyGIF.gif) > “The Plane Pull team did a tremendous job,” said VP, Finance, Michael Penman. “We had seven individuals in the top 20 for individual fundraising, and all members of the team raised $150 or more this year. Next year our goal is to continue our strong fundraising performance while moving the plane without assistance from Canadian Forces members - the plane was very heavy this year.
