
Mark your calendar: Payroll processing & delivery dates for 2020
December is here and that means payroll administrators are starting to think about how payroll schedules are affected by the upcoming statutory holiday schedule.
At Payworks, we recommend the best practice of processing payroll three business days in advance of an employee's payment date. This can make payroll schedules in December and January a bit tricky, taking into consideration weekends and the number of banking holidays late in the month. It could mean admins are processing payroll anywhere from three to six days in advance of an employee's payment date.
We also recognize that the holiday season can be hectic between year-end preparation, staying on top of frequently changing legislation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and personal commitments.
